Clayton Theatre Company (CTC) will return this fall for its 10th anniversary season with the production of “Forbidden Broadway’s Greatest Hits.” And they are thrilled.
Their last performance, the musical production of “Young Frankenstein” closed on November 2, 2019, due to COVID restrictions.
“Forbidden Broadway’s Greatest Hits” is a hilarious musical revue show that pays tribute to some of the theatre’s greatest stars and songs from various iconic Broadway musicals.
“I wanted to pick a fun musical with songs that the audience would recognize. Let me clarify that last part. The melodic lines from the various musicals are intact but the lyrics have been hysterically altered. I want our audiences to come to our show, be entertained and laugh for two hours. We all need that after the last couple of years,” said co-founder, Managing Director, and Director Roxanne Pardi. “We have an exceptionally talented cast and crew with over 90 costume changes! Our costumer, Marisa Castaldini, has been hard at work since we cast the show in May.”
Although many theatre companies had to shut down during Covid, the CTC Board has continued to meet monthly, pay its bills and keep “the lights on” for the company during the pandemic shut down.
As a nonprofit theatre company, CTC’s future existence relies heavily on the support of donors and ticket sales.
The City of Clayton can look forward to having CTC back to producing two shows per year and offer Summer Stage Camp for kids ages 6-16.
“Forbidden Broadway’s Greatest Hits” comes to Endeavor Hall, 6008 Center St., Clayton performs October 14-October 29. Ticket information is available at www.ClaytonTheatreCompany.com or call 925-334-0880.
