World Doll Day Show is returning to the Concord Plaza Hotel on September 21.
Did you know that Doll Collecting remains in the top collecting interests today? They are still a “collecting passion” for many people young and old.
Mary Senko, owner of World Doll Day Shows and Events tells us, “People want to collect items that have meaning and history, represent a special place or time, remind them of a special person, or are just beautiful and artful.” Dolls do a little of all of all of that and more.
Senko received a Bubble-cut Barbie when she was seven and has been collecting dolls ever since. That Barbie was her favorite. Now she is sharing her love of dolls, toys, bears, and miniatures, by promoting World Doll Day Shows and Sales and encouraging others to join the fun.
What better place to learn about dolls than to attend a doll show and sale? Collectors and attendees can ask questions, meet a fabulous line-up of nearly 50 vendors, or get a doll evaluated. Enjoy the fun of a treasure hunt shopping dolls from every era along with the toys and treasures that help bring doll displays to life in their own collections.
The Show and Sale has something for everyone including vintage dolls and toys; artist and one-of-a-kind dolls and plushies; doll house furniture and doll house accessories; modern and contemporary dolls such as Barbie, Blythe, Monster High; antique dolls, Madame Alexander dolls, Barbie, Patty Play Pal, and so much more.
We asked Senko what her plans are for the future of World Doll Day Doll Shows and Events. “I want to continue to keep doll shows fun, give dolls away to encourage young and not-so-young collectors to keep collecting, and give back to the community to thank the community for supporting these shows through raffles that support important charity work in the community.”
Senko invites everyone with a passion for shopping and treasure hunting to attend the Concord show at the Plaza Hotel, 45 John Glen Dr. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with discounted parking, food on site, door prizes, raffles, and evaluations of dolls available.
Admission is $10, children under 13 free. Save $1 with a coupon (or with this article) and learn more about World Doll Day Shows and Sales at www.worlddolldayshows.com or World Doll Day Shows and Events on Facebook.
“If you love dolls, you are certain to love this event,” Senko promises.
