Dear Friends and Neighbors,
On November 19, the City Council recognized students from the Mt. Diablo Elementary School and the Mt. Diablo Middle School for the “Do The Right Thing” Character Trait of “Respect.” Congratulations to all the awarded students.
The City Council also recognized and proclaimed the following:

  • November as Native American Heritage Month,
  • Dutch American Heritage Day: November 13. 2024, and
  • Homeless Awareness Week – November 11-23, 2024

The following Action Items were discussed and actions taken:
Council approved the installation of a Bronze Plaque in Memory of Clayton’s first Mayor. Bob Hoyer. The Plaque will be placed near the flagpole in The Grove Park at the corner of Center Street and Marsh Creek Road. The installation date is pending confirmation from the Hoyer Family.
The third-floor office space at Clayton City Hall is a step closer in getting much needed improvements. Council approved a Budget Amendment for the improvements that is not to exceed $60,000.00.
City Staff presented recommendations to add five (5) various staff positions. This item received much discussion from the City Council and the Public. The item was referred back to the City Staff for further development.
